Tom de Sutter – in less happy times – got two more for Club Brugge on Saturday
Goals galore in the Jupiler Pro League this weekend, 31 in eight games. Anderlecht’s Aleksandar Mitrovic and Matias Suarez dazzled against a poor KV Mechelen with the former scoring his first after two minutes. For Genk, Ilombe Mboyo and Jelle Vossen combined brilliantly to destroy Zulte Waregem while Standard’s Michy Batshuayi scored his first ever hat-trick to shoot down Oostende. The race to be the JPL’s top scorer will be hot this season with the aforementioned five strikers plus Ivan Santini, Hamdi Harbaoui and Tom De Sutter in the hunt. Standard’s win made it seven from seven and they stay top.
JPL Top six: Standard Liege 21 points, Club Brugge 17, Lokeren 16, Anderlecht 15, Zulte Waregem 14, Genk 13.
JPL Leading scorers: M. Suarez (Anderlecht), Santini (Kortrijk), Harbaoui (Lokeren) all 6; Thorgan Hazard (Zulte), Batshuayi (Standard), Bruno (Anderlecht) all 5.
