On the season’s first day, Club Brugge captain Timmy Simons was sent off on his debut while Lokeren’s Hans Vanaken (ex PSV youths and Lommel) scored two of the goals that sunk Anderlecht. For the champions, 16 year-old midfielder Youri Tielemans showed he is definitely one for the future after replacing the injured Sacha Kljestan. The American then posted a photo of his injury on Twitter. Other wins were for Club Brugge, Racing Genk, Standard Liege, Kortrijk and Zulte Waregem; for the last-named, on loan Thorgan Hazard grabbed a goal and an assist.
