Lukaku thinking about school rather than Chelsea

By | December 24, 2010

Lots of journos (BBC, Kicker, Marca) did not make it to Brussels for Lukaku’s Christmas special press conference. They did not miss too much real news. The young striker said that he would listen to his father (ex striker in the Belgian league, Roger Lukaku) and his agent when it came to thinking about his future. He added that just because he was a Chelsea fan did not mean he would play for them. Lukaku said they were just one of many top clubs in Europe; he wanted to go to the very top. He added that he did not want to know which clubs were showing interest in him; Lukaku wanted to focus on focus on training, matches and school! Wise words from the youngster.

I have to ask, is Lakaku the real deal? I have read so much about him which seem to suggest he could be one of the best strikers in the world but from what I have seen he looks very physically developed (which could explain why he can player senior football already) but lacks the finesse to really be classed as world-class.

Hi Mike, I must admit I tend to follow your train of thought. I have seen him a few times and I have never been that impressed. He's great of course for such a young guy but he is physically superior to most players and can look cumbersome. I hope I'm wrong but Anderlect might be wise to sell sooner rather than later.

Can we get back on topic please. Everything seems to have gotten off the subject. Some of these comments are unbelievable.
